   ● This painting was finished six months before the Spanish Civil War. Various  parts of one same body are hurting each other; it's Dali’s report concerning  the atrocities of such event. The beans are offerings that attenuate evil  spirits. Pressured to pronounce himself politically, Dalí stated that he was  not Hitlerian or Stalinist, that he was simply "Dalinian".   ● Este cuadro fue terminado seis meses antes de la guerra civil española. Partes de un mismo cuerpo haciéndose mutuamente daño, es la denuncia de Dalí sobre las atrocidades de una guerra civil. La judías son ofrendas para apaciguar a los malos espíritus. Ante las presiones para que se pronunciara políticamente, Dalí afirmaba que no era ni hitleriano ni estalinista, que él era sólo daliniano.
